Laksala headed to USA


Laksala is set to open the first outlet in Florida, USA.

It is expected to promote traditional handicrafts as well as local artisans in the country.

The agreement to open a Laksala outlet in Miami, USA, was signed yesterday at the Laksala Chairman’s Office.

Sudharma Warnakulasuriya, Chairperson of Boom Lanka, which aspires to run the Chartered Laksala outlet in Miami, and Lakmal Wanniarachchi, Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Handicrafts Board, as well as Dayasiri Jayasekara, Minister of State for Batik Handloom Textiles and Local Apparel were also present.

Sharing a message in this regard on Twitter, State Minister of Batik, Handloom and Local Apparel Products Dayasiri Jayasekara stated that “We have been heavily affected by the drop in tourism and believe that this offers a great route through which we can earn, while taking Sri Lankan products to the world.”
